You may curse the teen TV dramas.  You can roll your eyes at the story lines, criticize the cattiness, turn your nose up at the flawless teens, but you can’t deny that if you watch five minutes of it, you will get sucked in forever and find your Monday nights belong to the CW.

I have to admit, when I first watched Gossip Girl I did all these things.  I mean, I rolled my eyes and talked about all the lame stuff (out loud to my disinterested husband).  And then came the shock of the taboo.  These “teenagers” are sipping martinis at cocktail parties.  Their parents don’t seem to really care.  In fact, the culprits give explanations real parents would never fall for, or they scheme their way out of trouble—with something most of us don’t have—money.  Where did these under 18s come from? And do they exist in the real world?  Because if they do, I sooo want to be one of them!

Yes, yours truly, has been sucked into the Monday night show, eager to hear Gossip Girl  (Kristen Bell) news flash on Blair, Serena, Chuck, Nate, and Dan’s scandalous lives.  My favorite storyline, I must admit, is Blair and Chuck’s love/hate drama.

I have a history of shamelessly becoming attached to teen dramas.  I have seen everything from Dawson’s Creek to the O.C.  And when each one was over, I felt like I lost a friend.  And it all started with 90210 in the early 90s.  You remember that little show, the one with the cute bubbly teens who went to Bayside High . . .wait, wrong one.

Anyway, after what, 17 years, the big wigs decide to bring the series back with new teens and some of the old ones (now in their 40s?) because Hollywood is not creative anymore. Oh, and let’s not forget that the creator and TV genius Aaron Spelling is not producing this one because he passed away a couple of years ago.  So how is the magic going to be recreated?  I mean, Donna is not even in it!  OMG?!

But I gave it a chance and watched it last week.  All I have to say is, meh, probably will stick with watching Gossip Girl and maybe some One Tree Hill

Stay tuned for my new Gossip Girl blogs.  Don’t judge me; you know you’ll read it.
