It seems that friendly faces and warm southern hospitality appeal to celebrities like Helen Hunt and Josh Brolin.  They gushed over the Lone Star State during Opening Night of AFI Dallas International Film Festival.

“It’s good to have the film industry in the heart of Dallas,” said Texas State Representative Dan Branch.

He was referring to the Dallas Arts District downtown, particularly the Majestic Theater where the media and film lovers flocked to catch a glimpse of the action.

“I love Texas. The people are very warm here,” said legendary actor Mickey Rooney.

This is the festival’s second year and AFI representatives predict a massive turnout.
